I am a retired US Air Force disabled veteran who has been conducting Professional Soccer Analysis since June 2012 and most recently returned to coaching soccer after an eight-year break.
My background in soccer started in the United Kingdom, where, as an American, I was the General Manager and President of an English Youth Football Club just outside of Thetford, England. (Barnham Bulldogs FC) from 1994 through 1999. During that time I also served as our Director of Coaching as well as head coach for Boys U-9/U-10 & U-11/12. During this time I obtained my English FA Youth Team Managers License Certification through Norwich City FC in 1995.
Upon returning to the United States I was an Assistant Coach (U13) and Head Coach (U12) with Ajax United FC out of Kent, Washington for three years (2002 through 2004).
In 2012, I started a professional soccer analysis consulting firm (Possession with Purpose Soccer Analysis & Consulting) and performed private analyses for a Major League Soccer Club, to include scouting and providing pre/post-game analysis. My research supporting my analyses (created the Total Soccer Index), has been published in London, England “International Science and Soccer II” by Routledge, Taylor, and Francis while also being presented at both the World Conference on Science and Soccer (Portland 2014) and Rennes, France (2017). Other highlights during this time included being a regular TV pundit on Comcast Sports Northwest “Soccer City PDC”; winning an Emmy Award in 2016.
Last year I returned to coaching as a volunteer for Forest Grove High School (OSAA High School Soccer Coaching Certification) and started working as a Head Coach within the Aloha United Youth Soccer Club. Most recently I’ve worked as a Head Coach at the Portland Timbers Youth Soccer Camp and as the ’07 Head Coach in the West side Regional Youth Training Program and ODP.
I retain COPYRIGHT on The Possession With Purpose ideas and research published on these sites.
